free baby sweater knit pattern

The process of knitting has three basic tasks: (1) the active (unsecured) stitches must be held so they don't drop; (2) these stitches must be released sometime after they are secured; and (3) new bights of yarn must be passed through the fabric, usually through active stitches, thus securing them. Anyone who has anything to do with knitting will know the importance of knitting yarns.

It is important to know the size of your knitting needles because their size is related to the size of your stitches and, implicitly, to the appearance of the finished work. There are two kinds of knitting, weft knitting and warp knitting. There are actually hundreds of combinations of stitch patterns.

These patterns were graceful, compared to its economy, originality and terminology. One of the earliest known examples of knitting was finely decorated cotton socks found in Egypt in the end of the first millennium AD. A key factor in knitting is stitch definition, corresponding to how well complicated stitch patterns can be seen when made from a given yarn.

You also will usually want to stick with chunky yarns (this is a good use for "novelty" yarns, which have lots of texture and are usually thick but also light and fluffy), since they knit up quickly so you can make more presents. For more knit patterns be sure to click around this site!
