Let me start by introducing you to the five stitch types that I believe are at the very heart of knitting! When I have spent hours working on knitting a sweater, I want to make sure it looks as good after a dozen washes as it did the day I was knitting it.

There are old favourites such as books and magazines. Extra curvature can be introduced into knitted garments without seams, as in the heel of a sock; the effect of darts, flares, etc. Knitting is done by looping those threads, into each other by stitching.
These few basic knitting instructions are the foundation of any project you will ever knit. You will have only one new stitch from two.
